About the Author
Omar Cruz, past microbiology senior manager for a large multinational pharmaceutical company, among other leadership roles, is an industrial microbiologist with 27 years of in-depth technical experience in contamination control within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry. He has been involved in the design, optimization, and management of several environmental monitoring programs; and conducts microbiological out-of-specification investigations, including media fill and sterility failure studies. In addition, he has overseen and provided mentoring for several disinfectant efficacy qualification studies for different pharmaceutical cultures, including the creation of a disinfectant lifecycle program.
He obtained his education in industrial microbiology, biology and food science, and technology at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus.
