To perform the analysis of multidisciplinary systems in the early design phase, an Integrated Modeling of Optical Systems (IMOS) was developed by NASA/JPL. The existing code has Stationary Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) capability for acoustic analysis. An implementation of Transient SEA is performed to enhance the IMOS acoustic analysis capability. It is benched marked against industry standard vibroacoustic analysis tools VAPEPS and TRANSTAR. The comparisons are excellent. As an example, it is applied to a generic structure subjected to a realistic transient excitation. The enhanced capability can be applied to the study of microdynamics and other random vibration/shock issues related to the high precision space-borne optical systems.
