An Automated System for Contamination-Controlled Processing of Precision Instruments
An Automated System for Contamination-Controlled Processing of Precision Instruments
Page Range: 80 – 86
The design and assembly of an automated system for cleaning and assembly of precise electromechanical instruments in a cleanroom environment is described. Precision contamination-controlled automation implies controlling processes that substantially exceed the ability of humans and controlling contamination at a Class 1 cleanroom level. The automated system described has demonstrated the capability to meet these requirements by successfully processing inertial instruments formerly processed by manual operators. It performs all operations while maintaining the internal processing environment at a Class 1 level.
