Planning and Managing the Tailoring Process

An overview of critical management issues associated with tailoring of environmental standards and engineering tasks in agreement with current Department of Defense acquisition policies. Issues discussed include tailoring applicability, time phasing of environmental tasks, and RFP requirements. Special attention is focused on problems associated with competitive bidding, source selection, warranties, and contract provisions. MIL-STD-810D is highlighted as a tailorable environmental engineering standard.
